We absolutely love using E6000 adhesives for just about every application. While a bit more expensive, they are always reliable and bond really well. So we were very excited to see how this fabric E6000 performs on felt, and in short, it didn’t disappoint. It is, in our opinion, the best glue for felt to felt and felt to other fabric you can buy.

The E6000 Fabri-Fuse’s ability to stick the felt and other fabric perfectly is what set him apart from other adhesives. There is no adhesive on the market that matches its performance as it bonds the felt phenomenally. It soaks into the felt and makes the two parts you are gluing inseparable.

One of the main problems people face when using no-name adhesives to glue felt is that the adhesives change the way the felt looks and feels.

Felt becomes rigid and changes color to white and sometimes other colors. This isn’t the case with the E6000 Fabri-Fuse, as it doesn’t alter the felt and dries crystal clear. The result is clean and professional-looking when you use this glue.

E6000 Fabri-Fuse Adhesive

Another issue with inferior adhesives for felt is that they are not resistant to environmental factors. The glue might stick, the felt might look good, but when you wash it or expose it to high temperature, the bond will fail.

As with all E6000 adhesives, this one has exceptional resistance to environmental factors. It is washing machine-safe, which means it can withstand high temperatures, water, and moisture. You can be sure that the bond will last a long time with E6000.

We were surprised to find that this glue doesn’t have the usual strong odor that most of the E6000 adhesives have. It doesn’t fume nearly as much as the other models and can be used indoors with no problems.

The only thing we didn’t like about this glue is its versatility. It works excellently on all fabrics but doesn’t perform as well on other materials, like metal or plastic.

This isn’t surprising as this is an adhesive for precise application. It is meant to be used primarily as fabric glue and only sporadically as an all-purpose glue on smaller projects.

Still, if your felt project includes bonding felt to felt and other fabrics, there is no adhesive better than the E6000 Fabri-Fuse.

The runner-up on our list of the best glue for felt is Aleene’s Tacky glue. It is the best overall glue for felt for most projects and most people. It ticks all the boxes and is a great glue for bonding felt to just about anything.

As we already mentioned, the best thing about this glue is its versatility. It will glue felt on any material you can think of. It’s great for bonding felt to felt, felt to wood, felt to plastic, and felt to metal. We didn’t experience any problems or weak bonds on any type of surface or material.

We really like the option to customize the flow of the glue from the bottle opening. You can easily cut the tip of the bottle of this glue and get it to a size that is most preferable for you. You can resize it depending on the size of your project or your preferred method of application.

Another feature that makes the application easy is the medium viscosity of this glue. It flows at a nice and steady pace and doesn’t run like liquid glues. It stays where you put it, and you can dispense it in controlled amounts thanks to its consistency and the customizable bottle opening feature.

The glue dries clear and doesn’t interfere with the looks of the bonds and felt. The results are clean and very tidy-looking.

We like that you can use this glue with your kids because it isn’t toxic. It is safe to inhale and can be used indoors with no issues. Cleaning up is also easy, which you can do with just a bit of water. That can be a problem if you intend to use this glue on washable items as it isn’t waterproof. If you need something that resists water, go for the E6000 we reviewed above.

Some people complained about the long drying time of this adhesive. They reported that it sometimes took hours to dry, depending on the material in question. In our experience with this glue on felt, it dried in around 30 to 60 minutes mark, which is typical for a PVA glue like this one.

All in all, we really like how this glue performs on felt. If you don’t mind waiting some time for the adhesive to dry, you will end up with reliable and long-lasting bonds.

One of the quickest and most efficient methods to join felt with anything else is using a spray adhesive like 3M 45. This adhesive provides excellent results and is super convenient and easy to use.

If you don’t feel like waiting for 30 minutes or more for a PVA adhesive or epoxy to dry, then this adhesive is for you. It sets in just 30 seconds, which means you can finish your projects so much faster with this glue.

No applicator is needed for this glue, and you don’t have to worry about spilling the adhesive and wasted glue. Even a child can use this spray adhesive to glue felt or anything else for that matter. All you need to do is spray the two parts, join them together, and Viola!

We found this adhesive to be very versatile as it works excellently on bonding felt to many other materials. You can glue felt to paper, felt to cardboard, felt to wood, and felt to plastic. The only material we wouldn’t recommend using this spray on is metal, although you will rarely glue felt to metal anyway.

The spray doesn’t alter the felt or any other materials, even leaving the paper intact after spraying it. It dries clear and won’t cause any discoloration whatsoever.

One thing that we don’t like about this adhesive is its toxicity. You will have to work in a well-ventilated area, and using protective equipment is recommended. We also suggest wearing protective clothing as the spray can be hard to remove from skin and regular clothing.

This adhesive isn’t as affordable as some of the other models we reviewed, but its price tag is definitely justified. It bonds felt wonderful, dries in a blink of an eye, and is very easy to use. If you like easy and fast results, this spray is definitely a worthwhile purchase.

The Gorilla Super glue had to be on our list. You can glue just about anything with this strong adhesive, and one of those materials is felt. While not the best in terms of adhesion, you can still glue unthinkable things to felt with this glue that you can’t do with any other.

This glue is by far the most versatile on our list. You can glue felt to plastic, metal, stone, wood, rubber, and more successfully with the Gorilla super glue. It isn’t necessarily the best in gluing any of these materials to felt, as there are better adhesives out there, but there is no glue with such a variety.

The quick-drying time is always nice to have. You can glue felt to most materials in just 30 seconds! You will finish your project in no time, especially if you pair the super glue with an activator, which will speed up the drying time even further.

The liquid version of Gorilla super glue turned out to be a mess. It spilled and was way too runny for a precise application. This gel version, however, is much more accurate and provides controlled dispensing of the glue.

This thick consistency, paired with the clear drying residue, makes the results look very clean. Your felt crafting project will look very professional when using this glue.

You can safely put the glued felt into a washing machine, and you won’t have to fear hot temperatures or moisture affecting the bond. This Gorilla super glue is resistant to water and hot temperatures, making your bonds safe in any conditions.

All in all, this glue is a solid choice for gluing felt to a wide variety of materials. If you have a project that includes bonding felt to a lot of different stuff, this glue can be great for that.

This Beacon 3-in-1 craft glue is one of our all-time favorite adhesives. It is so powerful for a craft glue and works marvelously on a multitude of materials, one of which is felt.

As the name suggests, this glue is advanced craft adhesive, but what does that mean. It means that it is fast drying, strong bonding, and crystal clear drying glue for crafting. It is by far the highest quality crafting adhesive we tried.

It works wonders on felt, as well as all other fabric materials. The bonds are extra strong and very resistant to pressure. Apart from working great on felt, this glue can be used to glue metal, plastic, wood, glass, and more materials.

The drying time is what really surprised us when we first tried this glue. It dries in a blink of an eye! No other crafting adhesive comes near this glue when it comes to setting time. You can expect just 60 seconds drying time for most materials with this glue, which is crazy fast for this type of adhesive.

Working with this adhesive is really enjoyable because of its high viscosity. It doesn’t run and goes where you want it to go. No mess or spillage whatsoever, making your work cleaner.

The transparently clear drying color of this glue also helps get clean and expert-looking results. The bonds look neat, and the adhesive causes no discoloration or change in the shape or feel of the felt.

This glue has excellent water resistance while also being non-toxic and acid-free. This is a very rare occurrence in adhesives since non-toxic adhesives are usually not waterproof.

The only thing that made us put this fantastic adhesive to this position on our list is the price. Some more affordable alternatives offer similar performance. Still, if you want to work on your felt project with the crafting glue of the highest quality, this is the one to go for.

What To Look For When Choosing Glue For Felt

Felt is a specific material that has unique properties that made it so popular. It’s been around for thousands of years and is one of the oldest fiber materials known to humans.

Because it is so unique, only a certain set of adhesives can glue it properly without causing issues with the bond and the material. We will now go through what you should pay attention to when choosing adhesive for felt.

Type of Glue

You got to be careful about what type of glue you use on felt. You can very easily ruin your work by using an adhesive that is too weak or strong. The main adhesive types that we had the most success with when gluing felt are PVA adhesives, Hot Glue, Spray adhesives, and Cyanoacrylate adhesives or super glue.

PVA

In our experience, PVA glue works the best for most felt crafting applications. It’s easy to remove, is non-toxic, doesn’t interfere with the material, and makes strong bonds.

PVA adhesives are usually very versatile and will work on a wide range of materials. You can glue felt to wood, metal, glass, and more. The only material we had problems with is plastic, for which we found super glue to be better.

Make sure to get a PVA adhesive that dries clear so that it doesn’t ruin the aesthetics of your crafts. With many PVA adhesives that we tested, we got a lot of discoloration after the glue dried, even with adhesives that claimed to be clear drying.

One drawback to using PVA adhesives is that they usually aren’t waterproof, except for a few more expensive models. If your crafts need to be washing safe, you might want to go with another type of glue or go with the more expensive and water-resisting PVA glue.

Hot Glue

Hot glue works surprisingly well with felt. It is a great and inexpensive adhesive that is suitable for most low-strength felt projects.

We wouldn’t recommend it for larger projects, and especially those that require bonding felt to other materials such as wood, glass, or metal.

Spray Adhesives

Spray adhesives, such as 3M, work very well on felt. We’ve had great success bonding felt to felt with this type of glue. It works well with plastic and felt, lightwood and felt, and foam and felt.

These adhesives are very convenient and easy to use, and that’s why many people go with them. They are also mess-free since you won’t spill or over-apply them like with regular glue.

The spray adhesives are one of the quickest drying adhesives that work on felt, as you can expect most of them to bond it to most materials in under 60 seconds.

A drawback to using this glue for felt is that it is costly. There are more affordable options like PVA adhesives out there.

Super Glue

You can stick anything you can think of with super glue, and that’s exactly why this type of glue is suitable for felt. It is the most versatile adhesive for felt that you will find.

We had success bonding felt to just about every material there is.

The problem we had with super glue is that the adhesion isn’t as strong on felt like with the other adhesives. Some models can also damage the felt and make it get out of shape.

They are good if you need to bond felt to multiple different materials. Just make sure to get a high-grade one that was already tested on felt. We found the gorilla super glue to be best for this application.

Environmental Resistance

It’s essential to go for a waterproof adhesive if you want your felt project to be washable. Certain PVA adhesives can provide enough water and heat resistance for this purpose, while spray adhesives and super glue are almost always waterproof.
